"I learned this at least by my experiment: that if one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live that life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours."
I am a rightfully confident author impassioned to help others write fully confident in their own message, path, and passion. As an accomplished author who has “been there”—I will be able to help others “get there.”
I spent the first part of my writing career working strictly within the book-publishing industry where I edited countless books, contributed to fifteen, and authored over a dozen more, including The Woman's Secret to a Happy Life--the book and journal. Although I very much enjoy my work, I reached a point where I wanted a greater challenge. I knew I loved working with words, but I also wanted to work with people, empowering them to discover their true path and realize their dreams of becoming confident and successful writers whose message would draw others into a world of new possibilities.
Becoming a writing coach was the perfect fit. It allows me to combine my talent for words with my love of empowering and helping others. I achieved my coaching certification from the world-class Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC) and founded Writefully Confident to help people become confident writers who will ultimately publish dynamic, successful, and life-changing books.
I also became certified as an Energy Leadership Index Master Practitioner (ELI-MP) through iPEC and am recognized as an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) by the International Coach Federation.
In addition to my own writing and coaching, I teach journaling classes and workshops, helping others to connect the dots and discover their true path.
I live in Silverdale, PA, with my wonderful husband and a dog who takes me for walks. I'm the mother of two grown children and grandmother of one. In my spare time I love to crochet, solve puzzles, and feed and watch birds. I am active in my church and regularly travel the US with the Mennonite Disaster Service as it works to respond to, rebuild for, and restore the lives of people affected by natural disasters.
Testimonials for Donna Kay
"I found the entire process so thought provoking and easy. Donna is very, authentic, and comes across confident and focused, which easily allowed me to tap into what I wanted to pursue in life. I took an early retirement and needed something to fill my days, never dreaming I would find my life’s passion and so easily be able to implement it. Interestingly, I had been dancing around it my entire life, never fully grasping what it was. I have worked with other types of coaches over the years and never came close to getting results. I would recommend Donna in a heartbeat. She is very motivating and insightful, asking the right questions that helped me to piece it all together."

"The art of saying what I mean has always been a bit of unexplored territory to me, especially when I am literally stepping onto foreign ground, as English is not my first language. When I wanted to write the content of my website myself, I looked for help. Donna guided me in writing and reviewing, bringing not only correct grammar to my sentences, but much more fluidity and clarity.
Donna is an active listener, she validates my ideas and gently pushes me to find some clarity about whatever I need to express in writing.
Donna brainstorms with me when I am stuck and words don't seem to adequately translate an idea or feeling. One particular aspect of Donna's coaching approach that I appreciate is how she always holds me accountable and helps me translate in words what is really true to my own values and priorities.
Her skills help me even in my interactions with my clients, as I hear her angelical voice whispering in my ears, magical words I have learned throughout our sessions.
Working with Donna has brought my self-assuredness and confidence to higher levels. Thank you, Donna!"
Donna’s coaching I have become able to write, and write from the heart—
consistently and confidently. As a coach, she has a knack for creating a
sense of safety and makes it easy to open up to her. At the same time,
she has the courage to challenge. Her ability to skillfully probe my
thoughts and emotions during our coaching sessions got right to my core
issues. I often found myself reflecting on our discussion for days
afterward. Then the aha would come! With her help, I was able to
remove blocks that had separated me from complete self-expression and
have entered the most creative period of my life. "
